60A Ideal Diode Module – Reverse Connection & Backfeed Protection

The Gaqqee 60A Voltage-Unrestricted Ideal Diode Module is a high-performance battery and power supply protection solution. Built around a dedicated chip (not discrete components), it replaces bulky conventional diodes with ultra-low internal resistance MOSFET technology — delivering minimal voltage drop, near-zero heat generation, and rock-solid reverse-current protection for batteries, solar panels, and high-current DC systems.

Made in Mainland China.

Key Features

  • Ultra-Low On-Resistance: 1 mΩ MOSFET on-resistance means a voltage drop of just 0.05–0.02 V, drastically reducing power loss compared to standard diodes.
  • High-Current Capability: Rated for continuous 60A operation with a 300A MOSFET, making it ideal for heavy-duty battery banks, solar charge systems, and DC power supplies.
  • No Input Voltage Restriction: Works with any input voltage — simply ensure the reverse voltage (output minus input) stays below 40 V.
  • Fast Response Time: 2 µs switching response — the MOSFET instantly disconnects when output voltage exceeds input voltage, preventing backfeed current.
  • Wide Operating Temperature Range: Reliable performance from -40 °C to +125 °C, suitable for harsh environments.
  • Compact & Robust Design: 24 × 25 mm PCB with 1.5 oz copper foil thickness and well-organized component layout ensures durability and clean integration.
  • Dedicated Chip Solution: More stable and reliable than discrete-component designs.

How It Works

Connect the module in series with the positive terminal of your circuit — no connection to the negative terminal is needed. The module continuously monitors input and output voltages. Under normal forward-current conditions, it operates like a near-perfect diode with negligible drop. The moment the output voltage rises above the input voltage (e.g. during battery backfeed), the MOSFET switches off within 2 µs, instantly blocking reverse current.

Important Note on Reverse Voltage

There is no restriction on input voltage, but the reverse voltage (output voltage minus input voltage) must not exceed 40 V. For example: if your input supply is 24 V, you can safely connect it to 12 V, 24 V, 36 V, 48 V, or 60 V batteries — but NOT to a 72 V battery (72 V − 24 V = 48 V, which exceeds the 40 V limit).

Typical Applications

  • Battery charge/discharge systems (lithium, lead-acid, LiFePO4)
  • Solar panel backfeed prevention
  • Reverse polarity connection protection on DC power inputs
  • Parallel power supply redundancy circuits
  • High-current DC distribution boards

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is an ideal diode module and how does it differ from a standard diode?

A: A standard diode has a fixed forward voltage drop of 0.3–0.7 V, which causes significant power loss at high currents. An ideal diode module uses a low on-resistance MOSFET (1 mΩ in this case) controlled by a dedicated chip to mimic a perfect diode — with a voltage drop as low as 0.02 V, resulting in far less heat and power dissipation, making it ideal for high-current battery and solar applications.

Q: Can this module be used with any voltage input?

A: Yes — there is no restriction on input voltage. The key constraint is the reverse voltage: the difference between the output voltage and the input voltage must not exceed 40 V. Always calculate (output V − input V) and ensure this stays below 40 V before connecting.

Q: How do I wire the 60A ideal diode module into my circuit?

A: Connect the module in series with the positive terminal only. No connection to the negative terminal is required. The input side connects to your power source (e.g. charger or solar panel) and the output side connects to your battery or load. The module will automatically handle forward conduction and reverse blocking.

Q: Is this module suitable for solar panel systems?

A: Absolutely. This module is an excellent replacement for traditional Schottky bypass or blocking diodes in solar panel arrays. It prevents reverse current from flowing back from the battery to the panels at night or during shading, with significantly lower power loss than conventional diodes.
