How to Adjust Voltage & Current
Voltage Adjustment: Use a flat-bladed screwdriver to turn the blue CV potentiometer. Clockwise increases output voltage; anticlockwise decreases it. Note: maximum output voltage is approximately 20% lower than the input voltage.
Current Adjustment: Set a multimeter to the 50A, 20A, or 10A range. Set supply voltage to 5V. Turn the CC potentiometer anticlockwise ~10 turns to set current to minimum, then short-circuit the output terminals. Gradually turn CC clockwise to dial in the required current value. (If output voltage disappears after turning CC fully anticlockwise, this is normal — current has been set to 0A; turn clockwise to restore output.)
Important Safety Notes
- ⚠️ No reverse polarity protection — incorrect polarity will damage the module.
- ⚠️ No over-voltage protection — do not exceed 90V input.
- ⚠️ Output back-feed protection is absent — when charging batteries or connecting inductive loads (e.g. motors), a back-feed protection diode must be installed externally.
- ✅ Ensure adequate ventilation during operation to maintain rated performance.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What is the input voltage range for the DC-DC step-down power supply module?
A: The module accepts a DC input voltage of 15V to 90V. Some variants also support 10–15V input by short-circuiting the designated terminals on the board. Never exceed 90V input, as there is no over-voltage protection built in.
Q: How do I calculate the maximum output voltage for a given input voltage?
A: The maximum output voltage is approximately 80% of the input voltage (input voltage × 0.8). For example, a 40V input yields a maximum output of 32V, and a 90V input yields a maximum output of 72V. The output can be adjusted down to a minimum of 2.5V using the onboard CV potentiometer.
Q: Which power variant should I choose — 800W, 1200W, or 1500W?
A: Choose based on your application's power demands. The 800W module supports up to 28A output current and suits moderate industrial or power tool applications. The 1200W module supports up to 50A and is ideal for higher-load systems. The 1500W variant provides maximum headroom for high-power equipment such as battery chargers and industrial machinery operating at 50V or above.
Q: Does this module require external cooling?
A: The module is air-cooled with a built-in temperature-controlled fan that activates automatically at approximately 45°C. For continuous rated operation, ensure the module is installed in a well-ventilated environment to sustain full power output without thermal throttling.
Q: Is reverse polarity protection included?
A: No. This module does not include input reverse polarity protection. Connecting the input terminals with incorrect polarity will cause permanent damage. Always verify polarity before connecting power. Similarly, there is no input over-voltage protection, so exceeding 90V input is strictly prohibited.
