MPPT Solar Charging Module – Smart, Efficient, Portable

Power your projects off-grid with the Gaqqee DC 5–18V MPPT Solar Charging Module. Designed for 3.7V ternary lithium 18650 batteries, this compact board uses an intelligent Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) algorithm to extract the maximum available energy from your solar panel — delivering faster, smarter, and more efficient charging compared to standard PWM modules. Whether you're building a DIY solar power bank, a remote sensor station, or an outdoor gadget, this module is an ideal core component. Made in Mainland China.

Key Features

  • Wide Solar Input Range: Accepts 5V–18V from solar panels (compatible with 10–30W panels), giving you flexibility across a range of panel types and conditions.
  • MPPT Algorithm: Continuously tracks and locks onto the optimal operating point of your solar panel for maximum energy harvest under varying light conditions.
  • 5V / 2.1A USB Output: Built-in USB port delivers stable 5V/2.1A output to charge phones, power banks, and USB devices directly from solar energy.
  • Three Input Interfaces: Choose from DC 5.5×2.1mm barrel jack, Type-C port, or terminal blocks — connect the interface that suits your setup. Note: Only one input port should be connected at a time; the Type-C port is for input only, not output.
  • Reverse Polarity & Reverse Current Protection: Built-in safeguards protect the module and your battery from incorrect connections and backflow current.
  • LED Battery Indicator: Press the onboard button to check the current battery level at a glance via the high-brightness LED indicator.
  • Discharge Protection: The USB output automatically shuts off when the battery is depleted, protecting your lithium cell from over-discharge.
  • Compact Form Factor: Measures just 70mm × 34mm — easy to integrate into enclosures, project boxes, or portable builds.

How to Use

  1. Before connecting your solar panel, set the solar panel voltage jumper to the correct position for your panel's voltage.
  2. Connect your 3.7V lithium 18650 battery to the battery terminal — ensure polarity (+ and –) is correct.
  3. Connect only one input source at a time (DC barrel jack, Type-C, or terminal blocks).
  4. Insert the shorting cap into the 6V position to enable USB charging.
  5. Press the button to activate the USB output — the output does not switch on automatically at power-up.
  6. Ensure adequate ventilation or heat dissipation during extended operation.

Important: The USB output requires a battery to be connected for stable operation. Do not use the USB output without a battery attached to the battery terminal.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What types of solar panels are compatible with this MPPT solar charging module?

A: This module supports solar panels with an output voltage of 5V–18V and a power rating of 10W–30W. Before connecting, make sure to set the onboard voltage jumper to the correct position that matches your panel's output voltage for optimal performance.

Q: Can I use the USB output without a battery connected?

A: No. A 3.7V ternary lithium battery (such as an 18650 cell) must be connected to the battery terminal for the USB output to function stably. Operating the USB output without a battery is not supported and may result in unstable or no output.

Q: Does the USB output turn on automatically when solar power is available?

A: No. The USB output does not activate automatically when power is applied. You must press the onboard button to enable the USB output. The module also features discharge protection — it will automatically cut off the USB output once the battery reaches a depleted state.

Q: Is the Type-C port on this module for input or output?

A: The Type-C port on this module is designated for input only. It can be used to charge the connected lithium battery via a Type-C power source, but it does not provide output. Use the dedicated USB port for powering external devices.
