Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Is the Intel Core i7-4790K compatible with my existing LGA1150 motherboard?

A: The i7-4790K uses the LGA1150 socket and is compatible with Intel 8-series (Z87, H87) and 9-series (Z97, H97) chipset motherboards. For best results, we recommend a Z97 board to take full advantage of this processor. Always confirm your motherboard's CPU support list and ensure the BIOS is up to date.

Q: Does this CPU come with a cooler?

A: No — this listing does not include a CPU cooler. You will need to purchase a compatible aftermarket or boxed cooler separately. The i7-4790K has a TDP of 88W, so a mid-range or better cooler is recommended for stable operation.

Q: What condition is this processor in?

A: This is a used processor that may show slight surface scratches from previous use. Functionally, every unit is double-tested before being shipped to ensure it performs correctly. It is sold as a tested, working CPU.

Q: What memory type does the Intel i7-4790K support?
